A NaNight to Remember

Tonight I went out to celebrate winning NaNoWriMo 2011. The AdelNaNo group, or at least those of us within Adelaide, had a (noisily) quiet meetup and dinner at The Original Pancake Kitchen.

We laughed, we cried, we learned valuable lessons about maple syrup, and most of all we stuffed our faces with everything we could.

I was wedged, usually literally, between various combinations of Crashworth, Vague_Hit, and Swift. And had to keep standing up when one of them wanted to fuck around with the jukebox or order more food and drinks. My arthritic knee got lots of love, heh.

I, at least, supped on Dutch Chocolate Pancakes and Banana Split for dessert. Painfully delicious. Also, more Coke Zero than is legally allowed. Think I drank about 12 cans of the stuff and am now diabetic or something. (Apologies to all the awesome diabetics out there, especially Diabetus and dshban)

In between talking about everything Deep Purple and seeing the original master tapes of Bohemian Rhapsody, Vague_hit introduced us to some crazy dessert mashups. Firstly: Apple to a banana split, amazingly. Secondly:  Especially chai late. Seriously, one teaspoon per cup and you create liquid pleasure. Also, Crash nearly crashed into the table at one point, so that was fun. And Vague, bless him, was looking out over the kitchen when his banana split arrived. Oh glorious night, this shit was hilarious.

Only negative side to the night was waiting for my second (eighteenth?) Coke Zero, but they were incredibly busy and literally packed with people.

So happy I went along, and I look forward to spending more time with the AdelNanites.

Today’s Lesson: Alone in the city at 8:30pm armed only with a Coke Zero is seriously the best way to be.

Never fear!
